MV Agusta Brutale 800 is a mascular and fun-to-ride motorcycle that packs a powerful punch in terms of styling and performance. It is the Italian automaker’s first bike to sport their second generation ride-by-wire system. This first ever supermoto style machine by the company carries a powerful 798cc engine. The bike is extremely fast, loud and characterful and boasts of the typical glossy MV build quality and attitude. Design: The very essence of a naked concept makes MV Agusta Brutale 800 incomparable in terms of styling. It boasts of consummate Italian craftsmanship and revokes the epic DNA of the ‘dragster’ race bikes. The daring style of this bike is highlighted by a pillion that looks like a single seat. There is no traditional back fender nut just a ‘fingernail’ of sorts mount to the side swingarm and it is hung out behind the rear wheel. the bike has a wheelbase of 54.3 inches and seat height of 31.9 inches. Engine and Performance: The 798cc, ultra-short stroke three cylinder engine of this bike claims 125 horsepower of power and 60 pound feet of torque. The bike delivers rapid acceleration and great flexibility across the rev band. The revised throttle controlling the ride-by-wire system works very well and enhances the performance of this bike. MV offers all the bells and whistles like fully adjustable suspension, high performance tyres, variable riding maps, traction control, a quickshifter, and stacked exhaust cans along with beautifully designed lines on this bike. The add-ons on the bike include MVICS 2.0 electronics system, Mvs signature Electronically Assisted Shifting (EAS) system and the 9+ Bosch Anti-lock braking system. Pricing and Competition: MV Agusta Brutale 800 will face tough competition from Ducati Street Fighter 848, Triumph Speed Triple ABS and Yamaha FZ1. It will fall in the price range of Rs 11-12 lakh. It will be available for sale in India by the end of 2014.
