I don’t agree that just a movie would change the mentality of indians that’s been followed since ages. yes, it’s a good effort by the actors to express in their way that love is freaking free and it happens between souls but has nothing to do with the bodies. people should get this thing in their heads that ” being LGBT is a choice and being straight is also a choice” and we are nobody to judge one’s sexuality. people will take time to understand but we should never fail in making them understand and never give upon your loved one’s.

In a country like India it is hard for a man and woman to get married if it’s a love marriage and accepting same gender marriage is going to take real hard time. we should never have the attitude of “why do i care when i am straight?”. we are all human beings and being human is very important to be differentiated from barbarians and to be called as civilians. Also do not hesitate to have friends from LGBT. Because i have seen many people who feel embarrassed to have friends from that particular community. support them as their parents don’t and stand by them in all ways.

Once they let their love free and show the world that they exist and it’s no disease but that’s what they are, people might start accepting them. So LGBT do not hesitate to tell it out that you belong to that particular community or to love or to flaunt your sexuality or PDA’s because that is what you are and it cannot be changed just because somebody else wants you to change.

if people think i’m a lesbian, no you are wrong. I am not a lesbian or Bisexual and i don’t have to be one of them. whatever i’m saying is on the humanitarian basis. so let’s all take a stand for LGBT and have their back. And by the way i’m not embarrassed to say that i have all kinds of friends and i treat all of them as human beings and my very good friends and in future anytime if they need my help, i will be there for them. lastly if there comes a day where my daughter or son wants to have same gender partner,i would be the happiest mom for being so bold and accepting what he or she is and also i will  face the world with them.

I think the same as you. Just by movies LGBT cant be accepted, but it can definitely play a huge role in doing so

LGBT is not a shame its a life. Its being equal to everyone else

NO! Movies can make difference but it isn’t enough for the masses.

Acceptance, whether for LGBT or anything in society is only achieved via sheer heightened awareness of the society towards a particular stigma.

Prejudices wont let the society accept the LGBT community that quickly as we expect them to but the matter of fact is it is extremely insignificant to even consider if a small sect of the society is accepting them or not. Over a billion people live in this country and expecting all of them to like you and love you is vacuous.

For acceptance and respect, when the LGBT community will grow it towards themselves, a question like this wouldn’t ever arise.

Movies can even deter the situations and invoke extreme prejudice what the LGBT community faces, For Example: Movie ‘Bombay Talkies’ portrays Saqib Salem as a flamboyant Homosexual individual who is constantly hitting on Randeep Singh Hooda. Even that much is enough to trigger prejudice in the society.

As for the matter of fact, today a certain mass of society has turned so ignorant and mindless that if they can believe and become dogmatic about the information received on social media, a movie is potent enough to fill them with superstitions.

A movie can also revolutionize the way people perceive a stigma, For Example: Movie ‘The Danish Girl’ is a perfect example of simplicity and profoundness which was directed so intricately that there was no sympathy generated at all for the character and the pain what he was going through as a ‘Gender Dysphoriac’.

Sympathizing with the LGBT community would only deteriorate the conditions as the society needs to understand that they don’t belong to any Third World and are to be perceived as Human Beings only without any filters.

Movies have always helped to convey messages to the audience but it may or may not impact the way of people’s thinking.

the way you want to lead your life is totally upto one’s own choice, no society and their thinking should change one’s view or likings.

You are so right.  Definitely people in a country like India is not going to change after making movies as they are not even accepted after making it legally and no offense as such!

People should be let free to live the life in their own way without judging any sexuality.

I guess the way we have all the rights for our expressions and  what ever we do , even they shloud have their own rights to express their expressions and feelings.

just because they get feelings for the same gender or thers a change in harmons , people treat them as if they are some criminals !! That is not how we people should treat them !!

we have to support them in all sorts of ways and i am with them.
