Can you suggest some protein rich foods for women with PCOD/PCOS?
Please mention vegetarian options only.
Hey, so I had PCOS a while ago. The doctors refused to give me medicine because my hormonal imbalance was due to weight. And my periods were regular.
So, I tried a lot of things, but, nothing happened. And losing weight is so difficult if you have PCOS. Then, I tried tackling the problem differently.
So, I started on working on the balancing of my hormones.
I ate roti filled with flax seeds, and the taste was not very different. If you are choosy over food like me then its going to be a bit of a problem. But if you eat roti thrice a day then have the flax rotis in the morning and at night. I avoided lunch because I hated the taste of the cold roti. I always wanted it to be fresh and warm. And add a lot of flax in the roti. Make it in the powder form then add in the dough and knead together.
And secondly, I consumed garlic water. It tastes very very bad. But, it really made a difference. Take 2-3 pieces of garlic, then remove the cover and grind it. My mom used the elaichi kutne vala. Make sure that the juice isnt wasted. Then add a bit of water and drink. Do consume something afterward or your mouth will smell. I usually took it before dinner.
So, here are the two things that you should definitely try.
PCOD is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges and produces excessive amounts of androgen and estrogenic hormones. This excess, along with the absence of ovulation, may cause infertility.
Some protein rich foods for PCOD women are like Chicken, egg, pulses, soya products.
Complex carbohydrate which will add fibre, including good fat helps in managing pcod.
PCOS women include pulses and tons of it. Toor, black gram, Bengal gram, chana etc. It is the best source of proteins.
