When a person is under tremendous stress, is going through an emotional breakdown or most importantly has a negative vibe around him/her, the well-being of that person comes down which in turn, results in either decrease or increase of chemicals in the body (mostly the brain) which is responsible and triggers a person to suffer from anxiety and in some cases, slip into depression.

Adrenaline is a chemical which people are familiar with. But a lesser known fact is that too much of adrenaline could case anxiety disorders. Headaches, back pain, chest pain, feeling nauseous, joint pain, change in appetite are a few of the symptoms of a person suffering from acute anxiety. In many cases, an individual might not even realize that he/she suffers from anxiety. Initially, people start isolating themselves, they show no interest in attending parties or family functions. They always need their own space. They start talking less or they don’t talk at all. They hide their feelings and keep their words and feelings to themselves. They lose interest in the things which they loved more than anything else in the world. They stop caring about their loved ones and the world. They sit in the corner of the room (filled with people) thinking about their life and the event which made them the person who they are today.

At this point of time in their life, they need urgent medical assistance or a talk with a person who would make them feel better about life. In today’s world, 1 in 5 people suffer from mental illnesses. We have to take a stand and help the ones suffering. Console them, ask them look at the brighter things in their life or do any task which makes them feel better. Sometimes, even a quality talk with a mentally ill person, while taking a brisk walk, could save a life.
